Duties and Responsibilities:

• Performs basic cleaning duties to provide an attractive, clean, and sanitary physical environment.
• Provides routine custodial care for building including, but not limited to, dusting, vacuuming, washing windows, cleaning floors, picking up trash, polishing, and cleaning desks in all buildings
• Performs a variety of tasks including, but not limited to, sweeping, mopping, bathroom checks, and/or other miscellaneous cleanup.
• Meets cleanliness and sanitation standards in assigned areas.
• Restocks utility closets and custodial cart.
• Maintains equipment used in the course of work.
• Performs special custodial work upon the request of staff members and/or supervisor.
• Reports safety, sanitary, fire hazards, and needed maintenance and/or security repairs to immediate supervisor.
• Displays knowledge of current cleaning methods and the use and care of cleaning materials and equipment.
• Displays knowledge of current safety and sanitation practices.
• Demonstrates the ability to learn the operation of equipment and tools used in the work, as required by the position.

Preferred Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather), fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outdoor weather conditions, extreme cold (non-weather), extreme heat (non-weather), risk of electrical shock, and vibration.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
