A leader in behavioral and mental health care, this health system offers comprehensive psychiatric care with compassion, respect, safety, quality, and innovation. As a key member of the care team, the PMHNP-BC will play a crucial role in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of children and adolescents with various mental health disorders. The ideal Nurse Practitioner will possess expertise in psychiatric nursing, a deep understanding of developmental stages, and a commitment to delivering patient-centered care.Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations to assess the mental health status of children and adolescents.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans in collaboration with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications, adjusting dosage and treatment plans as necessary.
  • Maintain open and effective communication with patients, families, and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensuring compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and legal requirements.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the overall delivery of mental health services.
Requirements
  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Nursing with a focus on psychiatric/mental health nursing.
  • Current and valid Nurse Practitioner NP license and Registered Nurse RN in Massachusetts.
  • Certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).
  • Experience working in a psychiatric hospital or similar setting with children and adolescents.
