At The Arc Wayne of Newark, NY, we are currently hiring a full-time Maintenance Person to perform , general maintenance, and building upkeep of The Arc Wayne properties.

Maintenance Person Responsibilities:

• Diagnoses problems and performs general repairs and maintenance on The Arc Wayne properties to include, but not limited to, painting, electrical, carpentry, and plumbing.
• Performs painting (interior and exterior) and cleaning as required.
• Serves as backup for other agency maintenance team members and assists in emergency situations as required. This can include accepting emergency calls during off hours.
• Assists with projects as deemed appropriate, including light janitorial duties, landscape maintenance, snow removal, and emergency movement of people and/or furniture within The Arc Wayne.
• Conducts periodic inspections of all safety equipment to ensure they are in working order and assist in training staff in safety processes and procedures.
• Assists in the development and implementation of Agency Preventative Maintenance Program and maintains adequate records to efficiently implement PM Program.
• Maintains an inventory of agency tools and supplies and maintains a tool sign-out log book.
• Assists with overseeing maintenance systems and operations, including but not limited to maintaining the work order tracking system.
• Responsible for and maintaining current training for Safety Committee on all agency properties as required.
• Responsible for oversight of building security.
• Attends agency and outside trainings as programmatically feasible.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday (8am-4pm) with flexibility for agency's needs

Maintenance Person Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent or relevant experience in general maintenance to include painting, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must have available a personal reliable vehicle.
• Must possess a current, valid NYS driver's license.
