Support Service Initiatives Coordinator

Job Description (FLSA Exempt)

The Arc of San Antonio is a non-profit social service organization whose mission is to enrich the

lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and the families who

care for them. We are seeking a knowledgeable and caring person to join our service

coordination team.

Job Function: Serve as a full-time support services initiatives coordinator for the Family

Support Services program. Assist individuals and families in accessing local community

resources and participating in ALL and AACN Collaboratives.

Immediate Supervisor: Director of Family Support Services

Primary Work Hours: Forty hours per week. Standard business hours are Monday-Friday, 8:00

AM – 4:30 PM, with flexing of hours as conditions demand. On site and remote work schedule

to be determined by program director.

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, or a related field with a minimum

of two years’ experience in the field of social services and developmental disabilities

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in scheduling meetings with families/primary caregivers via phone, zoom or on site as

needed for Case Manager of the Day (CMD) and MAC referrals.

  • Provide parents/primary caregivers with information regarding funding and community

services (SSI, Medicaid Waiver Programs, AACOG, recreation, residential, vocational,

transportation, respite care etc.).

  • Maintain documentation of program data; Access, ALL, AACN, MAC
  • Acts as a ‘Super User” for Autism Lifeline Links (ALL) and Alamo Area Community Network

(AACN) Collaboratives.

  • Responsible for following up with participation into ALL and AACN Collaboratives.
  • Upon obtaining authorizations, enroll individuals into ALL and AACN
  • Keep staff updated on any changes with ALL and AACN.
  • Responsible for data entry of resource and referral data into Access database.
  • Attend a minimum of 15 hours of CEU training annually.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of the array of community programs/services, funding options for

individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities and/or their families.

  • Assist in the planning and implementation of the parent training sessions and participation in

community resource fairs.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google applications
  • Familiarity with community resources available to the community with intellectual and

developmental disabilities

  • Written and verbal fluency in Spanish
  • Ability to utilize software and work with databases, some experience preferred
  • Ability to multi-task, meet pressing deadlines and anticipate needs
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work independently and autonomously
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work with others
  • Excellent verbal, written, and in-person communication skills
  • Excellent planning, organization, interpersonal, and customer service skills
  • Excellent problem solving and attention to detail
  • Valid Texas driver’s license and proof of auto insurance.

Compensation: $45,000 to $50,000 annually, plus benefits including paid time off, paid

holidays, medical, dental, and other group insurance.
