Position Summary: The Clinician works directly with individuals and families served by The Arc of Opportunity. Responsible for conducting behavior assessments, selecting supports, and developing and monitoring behavior support plans. The Clinician makes recommendations to the individuals and their teams regarding behavioral supports and strategies and provides training on these clinical programs.

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-4pm (40 hr/week)

Essential Functions:

  1. Responsible for the development, implementation, and monitoring of behavior plans, medication treatment plans, and restrictive practices
  2. Provides input and assist in determining intake, transfer and discharge decisions regarding individuals utilizing program/services.
  3. Demonstrates ability to work within state regulatory guidelines
  4. Documents and maintains up-to-date individual case notes in the Electronic
  5. Health Record related to clinical goals and progress.
  6. Provides training and support to staff, caregivers, and family members
  7. Assists in implementation of Positive Behavioral Supports framework and participates as an active PBS trainer for the agency.
  8. Participates and presents information at Human Rights Committee, Clinical
  9. Meetings, and PBS Leadership meetings, and other committees/teams as required.
  10. Work collaboratively with the Department of Developmental Services, local-area educational facilities, and other community partnerships
  11. Prepares and submits client reactions and progress reports; confers with treatment team
  12. Completes required clinical documentation including restrictive practices, medication treatment plans, progress reports, LifePlan or ISP documents, and other documentation as assigned.
  13. Documents and maintains up-to-date individual case notes related to clinical data and goals
  14. Maintains clinical support presence throughout community and home-based programs
  15. Attends all necessary individual specific meetings including Risk, Psychiatric, Team, LifePlan, and ISP as needed
  16. Enhances and promotes The Arc of Opportunity’s strategic initiatives, overall brand and organizational mission and values through positive promotion and representation
  17. Maintains any certification and recertification as required and in accordance with agency, state, and federal guidelines
  18. Develops and executes short- and long-term goals which enhance and support strategic plan and priority initiatives
  19. Collaborates with Chief Program Officer, Clinical Director, senior leadership in the coordination and execution of agency and program goals
  20. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications: A valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record and CORI are

required at all times during employment with The Arc of Opportunity.

  1. Master’s degree required
  2. BCBA required. LICSW, LMHC, other related certifications/degrees considered.
  3. A commitment on providing ethical, person-centered supports required
  4. Experience working with individuals with disabilities, autism, and brain injury preferred.
  5. Experience working with individuals with substance use and mental health disorders preferred
  6. Experience with staff, parent, and guardian training a plus
  7. Ability to communicate with others effectively which convey clear direction, desired results and vision to staff, individuals and families served, government agencies, community partners, funding sources, and senior management.
  8. Ability to operate computer and variety of office equipment with reasonable accommodations.
  9. Ability to work flexible hours in a variety of locations (group homes in the community, loud day programs, cubicle-style main office building)
  10. Excellent organizational, interpersonal, communication skills, both written and verbal
  11. Computer literacy required as well as experience with program related software including, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
