Job Summary

The Qualified Intellectual Disability Professional (QIDP) is responsible for coordinating individualized program plans and the development of measurable goals for individuals in The Arc of Litchfield County’s Day Programs. This role involves assessing needs, advocacy, and ensuring the provision of high-quality care and services for the people we support. The QIDP is responsible for the dissemination of program planning information to staff and external service providers, as appropriate, and for the oversight of Intermediate Care Facilities (ICFs) recording/reporting systems and compliance with Department of Developmental Services (DDS) regulations. The QIDP supports the agency’s mission, vision, and guiding principles.

  • To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Social Work, Psychology, Special Education, or Human Services with 2 years of experience in developmental disabilities, including knowledge of interdisciplinary approaches to program planning, intermediate care facilities standards and requirements, and coordination of program planning systems. Clinical education and/or experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of person-centered planning principles, individualized service planning, and best practices in supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively and build positive relationships with clients, families, colleagues, and other external service providers.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team, demonstrating advocacy, flexibility, empathy, and cultural sensitivity.
  • Excellent writing and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
