The Arc of Bristol County dba proAbility is Hiring a RI Clinical Consultant Near Smithfield, RI

General Description: The primary function of the Clinical Consultant is to oversee the development and implementation of clinical supports within Residential Adult Services. The Clinical Consultant will work closely with the Residential Coordinator, House Manager, and Vice President in providing Clinical support to individuals supported in RI Residential Services. The role demands a commitment to fostering an individual centered approach that upholds, dignity, protection of rights, and furthers the organization’s mission, philosophy, and values.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in relevant discipline, such as Licensed independent clinical social worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, Mental Health Counselor, RNP, psychologist, or LICSW preferred, LCSW required.
  • At least three years’ experience working with adults or children with special healthcare needs.
  • Ability to travel to different residential locations within the agency.
  • Knowledge of Positive Behavioral Supports and ability to train staff on implementation
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with individuals, family members, and other professionals.
  • Experience in creating person centered/individualized Behavior Support Plans and behavior guidelines.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Uphold the rights and dignities of individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Create and implement positive behavior support plans and behavior guidelines.
  • Work collaboratively with the Residential team (Residential Coordinator, House Manger, and Vice President) to ensure that the homes stay in compliance with licensing standards. Participate in transition meetings with new referrals to determine supports that will need to be implemented upon intake.
  • Provide in home clinical support services and ongoing monitoring of behavior plans.
  • Provide staff training, and modeling for Direct Support Professionals in strategies and methodologies for working with adults with clinical diagnoses.
