The Arc Greater Hudson Valley NY is currently seeking a Full-time Behavior Intervention Specialist Locations: Monticello, NY with potential of travel to Dutchess and Orange Counties. Job Type: Full-time; Monday to Friday – 37.5 Hours per week
The BIS possesses a master's degree in a clinical or treatment field of psychology, applied psychology, school psychology, social work or another related approved field and documented training in assessment techniques and behavior support plan development. They are responsible for development and/or revision of behavior and monitoring plans as required by regulation including training staff on the plans and protocols for people supported. The BIS may also be asked to provide supervision to behavior techs.
Expectations:
It is expected that the BIS be proficient in the use of EHR systems for data tracking/documentation and possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities:
Develops plans/protocols and data collection systems for assigned caseload.
Maintains knowledge about behavioral/psychological issues of each person supported on their caseload.
Participates in IDT meetings.
Regularly observes behavior, and staff implementation of plans and protocols at assigned locations.
Attends house meetings as Behavioral Support representative
Provides suggestions for modification, alteration, additional training or supports to BIS and team.
Develops and provides skill training for staff on topics such as autism, dementia, mental health conditions, etc., as necessary.
Trains staff on behavior plan/protocol implementation and program revisions.
Responsible for compiling and analyzing data for HRC, psychiatry appointments and meetings.
Work closely with and provides clinical supervision to Behavior Tech.
Travel to various agency sites required.
Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations.

Perform any other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Maintain valid licenses {including driving license, as applicable], certifications or any other credentials that are required or necessary to carry out the responsibilities upon and throughout employment.
Qualifications:
1. Master's Degree in a clinical or treatment field of Psychology, Applied Psychology, School Psychology, Social Work or another related approved field and documented training in assessment techniques and behavior support plan development or a national board certification in behavior analysis (BCBA) or a NYS license as a Behavior Analyst (LBA) or a NYS license in Mental Health Counseling.
2. Valid New York State Driver License.
3. Minimum three years' experience working in the field of developmental disabilities.
Physical Requirements:
Physically able to bend/stoop, kneel, squat, crouch, push/pull, reach above and below shoulder level frequently and move about quickly.
Daily computer operation at workstation up to one (1) hour at a time, requiring sitting, viewing screen, and operating keyboard and computer mouse.
