The Arc Central Chesapeake Region supports people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD) to live, work, and connect with their communities.
At The Arc, we believe our organization’s needs must dictate our technology, instead of our technology dictating what we can and can’t do. Technology is a key pillar of The Arc’s day-to-day operations. We rely on the systems and programs in place to track, support, and store important information across the organization.
As the Director of Information Technology (IT), you will provide leadership and work in partnership with executive leaders and directors across The Arc and its related entities to meet the organization’s IT business needs. The Director of IT will be a collaborative, strategic partner who provides in-depth technical expertise to support business decisions and IT initiatives while implementing IT best practices and optimizing infrastructure while controlling operation costs.
The Director of IT will recommend short- and long-term IT goals and objectives aligned to the strategic priorities of executive leadership and will bring a can-do attitude to all projects. You will be expected to create a customer-focused culture within the IT department, act as the liaison and project manager for third party IT vendors and consultants, and facilitate regular IT security audits. Establishing IT standards and SOPs, analyzing IT infrastructure and system performance, and developing the department’s yearly budget are all part of the essential functions of this position.
The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated and proven ability to build relationships, effect organizational change, and bring exceptional critical and strategic thinking skills to the table. As a leader in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment, having an entrepreneurial spirit and the ability to remain flexible as priorities shift are essential. This role requires a bachelor’s degree in information technology, business, or a related field and a minimum of five years leading an IT department at a director level. This role comes with a competitive total rewards package and ongoing professional development opportunities.
