We are actively recruiting for Day Services Support Specialist (DESS) – Dundalk Day Center. This position will provide on-going support, counseling, and training to individuals of this agency. Ensures the individual’s rights and dignity are respected and actively support the agency’s policy on normalization.

What you'll be doing:

• Support individuals with disabilities to live and work in their community.
• Support the individual in activities of their choosing including fitness classes, park visits, movies/museum trips, career exploration etc.
• Transporting individual(s) to various locations and activities within the community.
• Initiate and maintain relationships within the community professionally and personally.
• Assist individuals with personal care activities such as toileting, feeding, showering, etc
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Education & Experience

• High School Diploma or GED preferred, but not required
• Valid Driver’s License, clean driving record and three (3) or more years of driving experience.
• Two (2) or more years of experience working with adults with developmental disabilities preferred. CMT desirable.
• Outstanding organizational and time management skills necessary. Must be independent and self-directed. Excellent oral and written communication skills and Microsoft Office experience a plus.

Working Conditions

• Position requires frequent standing and walking.
• Driving and transporting persons receiving services is a significant portion of this position.
• Must be able to work flexible hours as required to train and support individuals. This may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
