POSITION SUMMARY : Performs table service duties for the dining room, takes food orders, and serves food in a friendly, professional and efficient manner.
Experience : Experience preferred will train PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS : Ability to move intermittently throughout the workday, inclusive of sitting, standing and bending, pushing, pulling or moving of objects.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES : Checks plates for dietary accuracy before being served to the resident.Presets tables and cleans dining room as needed.
Insures that all tables are set properly with clean sanitary table ware in a neat attractive fashion.Treats residents with respect and offers a greeting, smile and professional polite service.
Works well with other dining room staff in quiet professional mannerTakes direction well from supervisor and corrects inappropriate behavior patterns.
Takes orders and serves meals in dining room according to procedures.Helps runners take soiled dishes and silverware to the kitchen to be cleaned.
Assists with cleaning as assigned; Responsible to clean the tables and chairs thoroughly after each meal; vacuum floor after each meal.
Offers alternative meal if resident is dissatisfied. Reports any inability to resolve resident dissatisfaction to supervisor.
Performs sanitary food service. Does not touch food with naked hands. Does not touch top of glasses, food contact surface of table ware or inside of pitchers.
Maintains confidentiality of necessary information. Treats residents who may not have full control of all faculties with proper respect.
Informs supervisor of any inappropriate incontinence or other objectionable behavior of resident. Thinks, acts and reacts calmly and logically to meet unusual occurrences of the job without being thrown off stride.
Is proactive in resolving grievances or problems.Performs any miscellaneous work assignments or side duties as may be required.
Checks, cleans and refills coffee machines, juice machines and any other equipment used in the food service department as needed.
Maintains clean sanitary dairy and dessert box. Keeps all juices, milk, etc. refrigerated between usages. Checks, cleans and refills as necessary all table condiments, including but not limited to salt, pepper, sugar, sweet-n-low, etc.
Folds napkins and takes soiled linens to laundry room. Replaces table cloths as needed.Familiarizes oneself with menus. Knows ingredients and pronunciation of all menu items.
Takes responsibility for daily snack preparation including replenishment and stocking of necessary supplies in resident snack room and bistro.
Maintains clean and sanitary bistro.Record dining room attendance, makes notes and report to manager any residents who are not eating properly.
Utilize the red napkin procedure to identify any at risk residents. Follows all standard operating procedures that are introduced.
