Assistant Program Instructor/ Classroom Aide

We are offering an afternoon summer program in the Washington, DC area and are looking for an Assistant Instructor/Classroom Aide to work with the Lead Instructor during classes for new DC DMV program (DC DMV Permit Prep Bootcamp). These classes were developed to help district students, mainly from Wards 7 & 8, pass their permit test. Specifically, we are looking for an Assistant Instructor/Classroom Aide for a 6-week program at the DC DMV Main Headquarters in SW DC on M street.

The classes run from 4:30 PM -7:30 PM. The initial program will start in early July and run through mid August.

Compensation:

· Pay is $180 per class ($45/hour).

· An additional hour of travel will be paid/class at the hourly rate.

· 3 days of paid training at the hourly rate.

Requirements

We are looking for an Assistant Instructor/Classroom Aide who has at least two years of experience working with low-performing students, are responsible and flexible, have reliable access to a car/public transportation and are punctual and dependable. One of the most important things is not only teaching a fun enriching class, but also following all protocols that exist in a school-based setting. Bilingual (Spanish) preferred, but not required.

Assistant Instructor/Classroom Aide should be working on a degree or have a degree. Instructors will need to have current Police clearances and background check.
