Aptus is actively seeking committed Substitute Teachers in the San Pedro, CA area. Compensation ranges from $23.00 to $28.00 per hour, with additional benefits available for full-time employees. Requirements:

• Valid Teaching Credential or a 30-day Substitute Teacher permit recognized by the Commission on Teaching Credentials (CTC).
• Bachelor's Degree required.
• Preferred: Classroom Experience.
• High levels of empathy and compassion.
• Resilience in handling emotional demands and potential setbacks.
• Cultural sensitivity and the ability to work effectively with a diverse student population.
• Proficiency in conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques.
• Good verbal and written communication skills

Responsibilities:

• Teach students basic learning skills and subject matter.
• Adhere to lesson plans provided by the assigned teacher.
• Creating a safe and inclusive learning environment that encourages personal growth
• To maintain and reinforce appropriate pupil behavior, attitudes, and social skills.
• Participates in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops.
• Supporting the implementation of the school code of conduct.
• Administer day to day lesson plans and provide quality instruction in the classroom.
• Maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment.
