Medical Assistant (Urgent Care/Family Practice)- PER DIEMWe are an urgent care and family practice located in Torrance, CA looking to hire a Per Diem for our Medical Assistant position.
Our clinic hours are from Mon-Friday 9am-9pm and from Saturday and Sunday from 9am-6pm.

Essential duties and responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to:
- Receive and direct phone calls, schedule appointments, check-in patients, obtain necessary information to update patient records, and ensure all forms and consents are completed by patients.
- Take patient chief complaints and vital signs after rooming patient (e.g. O2 saturation, pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, height, and measurements).
- Prep patients for examination and/or treatment and assist physicians with medical treatment and procedures.
- Clean and sterilize instruments/equipment.
- Perform routine laboratory tests and send samples to labs.
- Accurately calls in prescription and dispense medication based on provider’s orders.
- Perform venipunctures, EKG, visual acuity, urinalysis, injections, etc.
- Organize and manage inventory of medical supplies and equip exam rooms with appropriate supplies.
- Fax and scan documents into patient charts.
- Follow up on lab results.
- Clean the facility from top to bottom, including waiting areas, restrooms, exam rooms, office areas, and stockrooms.
- Empty trash at the end of the shift.
Qualifications and skills shall include, but not be limited to:
- A Medical Assistant Diploma/Certificate.
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Strong phlebotomy skills.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Desire to work in a fast-paced environment and ability to perform well under pressure.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients and staff members.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Ability to work as a team player.
Job Details:

- Salary: From $18.00 per hour.
