That Crazy Dog Lady is an upscale grooming salon located in Glendale.
We operate by appointment only, from 8am to 3pm.
Groomers are responsible for their daily appointments and maintaining their equipment and sanitation. Up to 7 grooms per day depending on quality and ability. Small dogs are $60 for 1/2" and shorter and $70 for 1/2 or longer/ bred trim/patterns. Doodles start at $120.
Our current groomers average 1300/weekly tips - after 6 months we offer AFLAC accident and disability insurance as well as a sharpening allowance. This is a W2 position. The commission rate is 40% with a bather and 45% without.
Our bathing staff handles all walk-in services as well as all bath and brush services.
The ideal candidate is a reliable self starter. Someone who genuinely takes pride in their work. We have built a large clientele over 7 years and have more than enough work for the right candidate.
To be considered you MUST: have current professional grooming experience as well as a personal, updated portfolio. Our groomers are expected to maintain their own personal brand - if you have never created your own grooming page/brand we can support you in that as it will help you tremendously in your career.
Continuing education is a must. CPR certification will be provided as well as AKC safe handling certification after 6 months. After 1 year of consistent employment tuition reimbursement will be offered up to $500 per calendar year.
Responsibilities:
- Perform grooming services on a variety of pets, including dogs and cats
- Bathe, brush, and trim pets' fur according to client specifications
- Provide nail trims and ear cleaning
- Assess and maintain the overall health and well-being of pets during grooming sessions
- Handle pets with care and ensure their safety throughout the grooming process
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the grooming area
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in pet grooming or related field preferred
- Knowledge of different breeds and their specific grooming needs
- Ability to handle and restrain animals safely and effectively
- Excellent communication skills to interact with pet owners and understand their preferences
- Physical stamina to perform tasks such as lifting heavy pets or standing for long periods of time
- Patience and a gentle approach when working with nervous or anxious animals
- Familiarity with basic veterinary care procedures is a plus
