We currently have an opening in our Clarksburg, MD office for an experienced Diagnostics Team Lead in Manufacturing Operations. This position will report to the Senior Manager of Manufacturing. The team lead is responsible for one or more lines producing a diverse portfolio of products and is responsible for all phases of manufacturing including SMT assembly, circuit card test, final assembly, harness and cable assembly, battery assembly and all process development activities.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day activities of the diagnostic team and/or one or more production lines.
  • Ensure that teams are preforming to work instructions and team is correctly logging into PIDs.
  • Accountable for quality, quantity and inspection of all work performed on assigned lines.
  • Monitors operational efficiencies, yields, and other data reports to guide labor efforts to meet or exceed standards.
  • Test all products and subassemblies across all product lines, program firmware.
  • Perform technical responsibilities on assigned line with a high degree of proficiency. Assign work, train and mentor team on best practices of technical application on line.
  • Run most tests in factory, properly connect test equipment, determine if stack or product is having issues and keep manager informed of stack and product issues.
  • Program firmware on boards and on individual ICs.
  • Demonstrates support for company values and vision and embrace TDSI Core Values
  • Maintain a high ethical standard of practice, including compliance with all company procedures.
  • Works with Concurrent, Test, Quality, and Design Engineering on Continuous Improvement team. Collection and analysis of repair data from Test Event is essential.
  • Troubleshoot to sub-assembly level on unit failures.
  • Perform some component level diagnostics on sub-assembly failures

Lead Responsibilities:

Coordinates responsibilities for all diagnostic technicians. This position carries out Lead responsibilities in accordance with the organization's operating policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include ensuring staff is performing to expectations, interviewing, hiring, training and developing employees; planning, assigning and directing work; preparing performance appraisals, rewarding and providing for employee discipline when required; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Active mentoring and development of staff is critical element of these responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • US Citizenship Required
  • Ability to obtain US Security Clearance
  • 2 Year Degree in Electronic Technology or other related field
  • Must have 5 to 7 years manufacturing electro/mechanical experience with at least 5 years in management.
  • Experience with electronics, radio test requirements and have a working knowledge of surface mount technology.
  • Must be proficient in RF testing knowledge.
  • Computer Skills with proficiency in Excel, Word, Outlook, Striped Lighting & PeopleSoft.
  • Solid customer focus and management of key stakeholders.
  • Understand ERP System.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Concepts such as Kanban, Kaizen, Root Cause Analysis, etc. preferred.
  • Ability to understand basic digital electronic signals, power supply circuitry; frequency and wave signals and circuits; and, basic control signal and circuits.
  • Knowledge of Engineering Data such as specification control drawing & source control drawing.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications – Fluent in English
