Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE

Responsible for providing PdM services to Allied clients as directed by management. The apprentice collects data and works with an Analyst for reviewing data and technical report generation. Apprentices are normally assigned an area of plant for collection of technical data. The Apprentice will be accountable for ensuring compliance with all Allied, client, OSHA, and other applicable safety standards

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES

• Assumes responsibility for the overall safety of the work environment.
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with Allied Reliability, client, OSHA, and other applicable standards.
• Collects Technology Data.
  • Collects Technical data in accordance with Allied Operating Procedures.
  • Works with CBM Analysts on data review and report writing.
• Able and willing to work in an on-call situations and off shifts as required by customers or management
• Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.
  • Performs special projects as assigned.
  • Ensures that work area is clean, secure, and well maintained.

PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS

• Technical data is properly collected.
• Inquiries are courteously attended to. Good business relations exist with customers.
• A professional image is projected and maintained.

Qualificiations

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

• High school graduate or equivalent and 3-5 years working in Maintenance environment or a 2-Year Technical Degree. Apprentices must have the ability to obtain ASNT-TC1A Level 1 Certification (or equivalent) in their core technology and Level 1 Certification (or equivalent) in secondary technology within a 1 year of service.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE:

• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical fundamentals as used in industrial environment.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• 3-5 years of mechanical or electrical background with emphasis on industrial equipment or 2-year technical degree.

SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Good communication skills, both oral and written.
• Proficient computer skills, including but not limited to Windows, Word, and
• Excel.
• Solid analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Able to work well independently as well as a Team environment.

REPETITIVE MOTIONS:

• Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

TALKING:

• Especially where one must frequently convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly.

GOOD VISUAL ABILITIES:

• Keen visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products, or operate, inspect and adjust machinery.
• Able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.

PHYSICAL STRENGTH:

• Active work; often standing and/or lifting for long periods of time. Exerts up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally.

MENTAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION
REASONING ABILITY:

• Ability to deal with a variety of variables under often hazardous work conditions.
• Able to interpret and communicate various instructions.

MATHEMATICS ABILITY:

• Ability to perform basic math skills, use decimals to compute ratios and percents, and to draw and interpret graphs.

LANGUAGE ABILITY:

• Ability to read a variety of books, magazines, instruction manuals, atlases, and encyclopedias.
• Ability to prepare memos, reports, and essays using proper punctuation, spelling, and grammar.
