Description
POSITION PURPOSE
Responsible for the loading and unloading of material within a warehouse or storage facility. Utilizes hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, conveyors, or other handling equipment to move material to and from trucks, vans or vehicles and within the storage facility. May record flow information of materials and products. The Material Handler II will be accountable for ensuring compliance with all Allied/TF Hudgins, client, OSHA, and other applicable safety standards
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
- Safe work practices
- Load and unload material/products
- Utilize different type of machinery safely to move material from one location to another
- Record information regarding material/products
- Basic computer skills
- Route all documentation to proper location or personnel
- Properly package material for shipping
- Time management
- Housekeeping for work area and shared duties throughout lube shop
- Participation in safety meetings/trainings
- Assists any other department as directed
PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS
- The movement of material/products is safely performed and completed.
- Inquiries are courteously attended to. Good business relations exist with customers.
- A professional image is projected and maintained.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Experience:High school graduate or equivalent of years working in Warehouse/Service environment.
Required Knowledge:Knowledge of warehouse fundamentals as used in workplace environment.
Skills/Abilities:Good communication skills, both oral and written.
Basic computer skills
Able to work well independently as well as in a Team environment.
