Teya Support Services is excited to share we are recruiting a Seasonal Wildlife Biologist to support our team! This role will be located at 4999 Goldstone Road, in Fort Irwin CA.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct rare plant monitoring for Lane Mountain Milk-vetch and Desert Cymopterus, approximately four days per week. Botanical surveys will be conducted as part of a 2-person team.
• Assist with Burrowing Owl, Mojave Fringe-toed Lizard, Mohave Ground Squirrel, and springs/seeps surveying efforts as needed, approximately one day per week.
• Data QA/QC and other tasks as assigned.
• Position is 75 - 90% field work.

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences or related fields, or currently working towards a degree.
• Valid driver's license, clean driving record and ability to drive 4 x 4 field trucks over various terrain.
• Upon hiring, the applicant must be able to pass a basic background check required to gain access to Fort Irwin (a military installation).
• Ability to work in a wide range of weather conditions including temperatures surpassing 100 degrees.
• Ability to navigate to field sites using maps and GPS unit.
• Technicians must have their own vehicle for transportation from Barstow to Fort Irwin. Teya Support Services, LLC will provide 4 x 4 trucks for field work.

The work environment for this position requires an individual to be able to:

• Must be able walk over long distances and across of variety of terrains, including uneven surfaces.
• Must be able to climb, jump, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to work with minimal supervision.
• Must pass basic background check to gain access to a military installation and have a valid driver’s license.
