Textum OPCO, LLC is hiring an Operator for its Dayton, OH composite manufacturing operation.

At Textum we thrive on developing innovative fabric and multi-dimensional preform solutions for our customers which help to advance their programs and push their technologies to the next level.

We have unique expertise in developing textile solutions for extreme environments that we are leveraging for specialty composite production.

The industries that we serve include aerospace, space, defense, energy, and infrastructure. Whether it's thermal protection systems for space vehicles, preforms for CMC components, or preforms and fabrics for carbon-carbon processing, we have the experience and expertise to help ensure our customer's success both as a reinforcement provider and through delivery of finished parts.

We are in search of a capable Operator to assist in the development and production activities related to manufacturing composite parts.

The perfect candidate will have previous experience working around hot ovens / furnaces and possess knowledge of proper chemical handling practices.

They will be responsible for maintaining a safe and productive working environment, while adhering to our quality system.

Additionally, the Operator will provide support in all areas of production, including supply chain management, part production, and final delivery.

This role entails a range of hands-on tasks, such as kitting, molding, equipment maintenance, fabrication, and assembly.

This is a full-time, direct hire position.

Responsibilities

  • Clean, seal, and release metal molds for composite processing
  • Manipulate mold components using hoists and pallet stackers
  • Assist with cleaning and unloading furnaces
  • Operate plycutter and layup composite plykits
  • Prepare supplies and materials in support of composite processing
  • Record all data and results in specified forms (paper and electronic)
  • Provide support and operate in multiple areas by monitoring and recording furnace operations, parts and molds assembly, use of ERP system, etc.
  • Work with various chemicals and compressed gases
  • Ensure that all safety guidelines are always followed strictly and maintain a clean and orderly environment.

Requirements

  • Applicants must be an US Citizens; willing and able to apply for and maintain a US DoD Security Clearance
  • Candidates must be willing to submit to a background check.
  • Candidates will be required to pass a drug test.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • A college degree or some college experience is a significant advantage.
  • Experience working with high temperature composites such as C / C or CMCs is a significant advantage.
  • General mechanical / technical aptitude and good manual dexterity required.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment autonomously and complete all assigned tasks.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing and perform basic math calculations.
  • Ability to solve problems using existing procedures to perform straightforward tasks.
  • Can work well with others in a diverse group and foster a cooperative work environment.
  • Ability to operate a variety of hand tools and machinery.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift to up 50 lbs. unassisted.
