TITLE
Director, The Write Site Writing Center
JOB SUMMARY
The primary role of this position is to provide vision, leadership, and operational oversight for the TWU writing center, The Write Site; recruit, select, train, supervise, evaluate and schedule tutors; manage the budget; seek internal and external funding; remain current on and contribute to scholarship in the field; maintain and update training materials, materials to support clients, the web site, and scheduling software as needed; collaborate with faculty, staff, and other learning centers on campus; promote The Write Site and its services to raise the profile of the writing center; contribute to retention efforts. Work is performed under minimal supervision and performance is based upon effectiveness of leadership, performance of tutors, contributions to LCGS and TWU. The performance evaluation is conducted through the performance evaluation system and in accordance with the University Policies & Procedures.

Reports to: Chair of Language, Culture, and Gender Studies
Supervises:Tutors and Senior Secretary

EDUCATION
Ph.D. in Rhetoric, Writing, or English required or must acquire Ph.D. within a 12-month period from the date of hire.
EXPERIENCE
A minimum of three years of experience teaching writing in a college or university setting, experience working in writing centers, knowledge of writing center pedagogy, and potential for ongoing scholarly productivity (conferences and/or publications in the field of writing center studies) required. Five years of experience teaching writing in a diverse context, supervisory experience, and leadership experience preferred.
REQUIREMENT
Regular and reliable attendance during regular scheduled days and work hours is an essential function of this position.
May complete some or all work remotely upon approval via the university's Alternative Work Arrangement Policy.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
