Position Summary

Calling Theatre Majors!

We are seeking student employees to help with scenery, costume, light, and sound construction as well as assisting in marketing and publicity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Scenery construction and painting.
Costume construction, designing and creating.
Lighting, Sound, and Properties construction.
Marketing/Publicity duties including social media management, creating show or event related promotional materials, and distribution of marketing materials.
Front of House duties including ticket sales and show reservations.

Education, Certifications and/or Licenses

Experience

Theatre Majors preferred, Theatre experience required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Ability to work independently and take initiative.
Ability to work effectively, diplomatically and professionally with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.
Ability to be detail oriented and pay attention to accuracy.
Ability to lead a team or small group on a specific task.
Ability to learn a variety of procedures and operational skills for multiple programs/equipment.
Strong desire to learn.
Great work ethic and good time management skills.
Basic sewing skills (cutting fabric and hand stitching or machine sewing).
Basic carpentry skills (use a screw gun, measure and cut lumber to desired lengths).
Some knowledge of basic technical theatre operations (hanging lighting or sound equipment, painting, installing scenery, working with costumes and props) and willingness to learn the rest.
Ability to lift and/or move 15-20 pounds.
Ability to perform all physical duties as needed.
Ability to adhere to University & departmental policies and procedures.
Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, memos, blue prints and schematic.
Ability to complete all physical tasks as needed.
