Texas State University is Hiring a Licensing associate Near San Marcos, CA

Required Qualifications : Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications to meet the requirements of the position.

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in technology licensing, intellectual property management, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of intellectual property laws and regulations.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of marketing, commercialization strategies and deal structuring.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to analyze complex technologies and market dynamics.
  • Relevant scientific / technical knowledge or experience working with scientists across various disciplines.

Job Description Responsible for managing licensing projects and cases, including identifying and evaluating technologies with commercial potential and licensees for the technologies. Job Duties

  • Work with outside entities to assess the commercial potential of new technologies and innovations developed within Texas State or through external collaborations.
  • Market Analysis reports.
  • Negotiation of licensing agreements, including terms and conditions, royalties, and intellectual property rights.
  • Oversee the management and protection of intellectual property portfolios, including patents, trademarks, and copyrights.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with inventors, researchers, industry partners, and legal teams to facilitate technology transfer and licensing.
  • Perform due diligence on potential licensees, ensuring they have the capacity and resources to successfully commercialize the technology.
  • Monitor and manage ongoing licensing agreements, ensuring compliance and addressing any issues that may arise.
  • Develop marketing strategies to promote licensed technologies and identify potential business development opportunities.
  • Prepare regular reports on licensing activities, financial projections, and technology transfer metrics for senior management.
