Description

Operations & Payments Specialist II is primarily responsible for processing of daily Deposit Operations and Payments responsibilities. Deposit Operations includes standard back-office transaction processing such as item posting, NSF management, Positive Pay processing, Fraud management, and item returns. Payment Operations includes processing of all incoming and outgoing wire transfers, ACH processing, EFT debit card management and dispute resolution, and Fraud management. They are required to have a deep understanding of all bank transaction processing policies and procedures and ensure compliance with all bank and regulatory rules and regulations. They must work closely with Operations & Payments Specialists/Lead to ensure department processing, accuracy, and escalations. They must be incredibly strong in process creation, documentation, and validation of daily duties. Assistance with training of new staff and ongoing training must be a key focus to ensure staff is well trained and knowledgeable in all systems as well as policies and procedures to effectively mitigate risk and loss for clients and the bank. They must work closely with Operations & Payments Specialists I- providing direction and oversight of assigned responsibilities, verifying processes and procedures are followed.

Responsibilities:

  • Uphold all TSB core values.
  • Uphold and follow all internal processes, procedures, and regulations.
  • Deep understanding of all bank policies and procedures relative to position.
  • Creation and documentation of internal processes and procedures.
  • Processing of all incoming and outgoing cash letter transactions.
  • Assisting with training of Operations & Payments Specialist I – New and Ongoing
  • Responsible for oversight of operational duties and maintaining a dual-control environment for transactions.
  • Fraud Management, Risk Mitigation, and Case Tracking.
  • Consistently applies superior decision-making techniques pertaining to inquiries, approvals, and requests as they apply to existing policies and procedures, keeping within assigned approval limits and using instances as learning tools for employee development.
  • Assumes responsibility for various department functions in the absence of staff member or unexpected circumstances.
  • Reconciliation and Balancing of Daily GL’s relative to the department.
  • Responsible for case and situational escalations are reported to Team Lead.

Required Qualifications:

  • High School diploma, general education degree (GED), or equivalent required.
  • Ability to deal with difficult problems involving multiple facets and managing fraud cases
  • At least two years of experience in knowledge and training of bank deposit operations, check clearing, ACH Processing and Rules/Regulations, and Wire Processing.
  • Strong knowledge of related state and federal banking compliance regulations, and other Bank operational policies.
  • High level of time management, organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task, strong attention to detail, and accountability.
  • Deep understanding of all software systems used within the department and other platforms necessary.
  • ePay, AAP, APRP & NCP certifications Note: if any certifications are not currently present, there needs to be a clear path to acquiring them.
  • Advanced computer skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Superior oral, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to carry out instructions, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, and speak clearly to customers and employees.
