This role requires programming G code at the machine.
We are a small job shop where the job changes on a weekly, if not daily basis. The candidate must be proficient in G & M code, as well as order of operations in completing machining tasks. Programming, setup, and operation is required for this role. Must be able to hold tolerances up to .0001”. This role will require strong machine setup and troubleshooting skills, as well as strong communication and organization skills. Must be able to work independently.
Experience with Haas and Fanuc controls are preferred. Manual machining experience is a plus.
Duties:
- Set up and operate CNC machines to perform precision machining operations
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to determine machining requirements
- Select the appropriate tools, materials, and cutting speeds for each job
- Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and accuracy of the finished product
- Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure optimal performance
- Inspect finished parts for defects and make necessary adjustments
Skills:
- Proficiency in operating power tools and hand tools
- Experience with CAD software for programming CNC machines
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and practices
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
- Strong math skills for performing basic calculations
