Responsibilities:
- Maintain security and control within a juvenile correctional facility
- Supervise and monitor the activities of juvenile offenders
- Conduct regular patrols and inspections of the facility
- Enforce rules, regulations, and policies to ensure a safe and secure environment
- Respond to incidents, emergencies, and disturbances as necessary
- Conduct searches of individuals, cells, and common areas for contraband
- Escort and transport juveniles within the facility or to external appointments
- Provide guidance, counseling, and support to juveniles as needed
- Complete accurate and detailed reports regarding incidents, behavior, and activities
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- First aid and CPR certification (received during TJJD training)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to write clear and concise reports
- Experience in conflict management and de-escalation strategies preferred
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Familiarity with CCTV systems and monitoring equipment is a plus
- Must pass a background check, physical and drug screening
