Position Summary: Must have general working knowledge patient, medical terminology and excellent communication and computer skills. Responsible for duties related to patient insurance benefits. Provides departmental support as directed by the Business Office Manager. Verify and obtain patient benefits and communicates with patients.
Job Duties Summary: The Authorization Representative will work under direct supervision of the Billing Manager and will be responsible for the following duties, but not limited to;
* Verify patients benefits for office visits, procedures for both professional and facility services
* Properly document detailed benefits
* Obtains all HMO referrals in a timely manner
* Contact patients regarding benefits
* Obtains Anesthesia Authorizations
* Additional duties to be assigned
* Obtain authorizations timely and with a high degree of accuracy. Department goal is to verify 100% of scheduled surgeries at least 2 weeks prior to the date of service and to check for add-ons at least twice daily.
* Maintain patient confidentiality as defined by state, federal and company regulations.
* Maintain cooperative working relationships with all departments and providers
* Must possess excellent time management skills
* Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, Spanish a plus.
* Must be able to multi task and have the ability to work effectively in an independent environment
* Must also have excellent communication and organizational skills.
* Provide excellent customer service by appropriately responding to inquiries from clinic staff, physicians, and/or patients.
Requirements:
* High school diploma or equivalent
* Bilingual a plus
* Minimum of 1 years in medical office setting
Hours are from Monday - Friday 9am to 6pm

Pay: $31,000.00 - $33,000.00 per year
