Texas Hydraulics, Inc. is Hiring a Cost Analyst Near Temple, TX

Job Summary: The Cost Analyst will support the manufacturing operations and cost accounting function for Texas Hydraulics. This includes but is not limited to standard costing, analyzing variances, monitoring and improving inventory accuracy, and creating analysis to help drive business results.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, understand, and maintain standard costs
  • Ensure accuracy of inventory valuation through data analysis and communication with supply chain, engineering, and operations
  • Ability to analyze and report on costs above Gross Profit such as purchase price variance, scrap, production variances, and variable expenses – finding root cause and helping to improve performance
  • Perform month end close activities related to cost accounting and inventory transactions, recording journal entries and completing account reconciliations
  • Participate in quarterly excess and obsolete inventory review process
  • Provide operational business support by delivering timely and relevant information and trend data to help inform decisions and improve performance
  • Ad hoc information requests such as make/buy analysis and projected cost roll impacts
  • Assist in developing and documenting policies and procedures, including system requirements and internal controls
  • Other Accounting tasks as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, or related field
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience related to cost accounting
  • Advanced computer skills in Excel with Oracle preferred
