Texas Family Care Network is Hiring a Family Support Specialist Coordinator Near Beaumont, TX

Position Summary 

This position coordinates service requests/referrals for the Family Support Specialists/assistants to TFCN case managers and case manager supervisors. Family Support Specialists provide human services to TFCN clients, including transportation and documentation of services provided. The position will coordinate the support needs of Region 5 and assign staff to complete tasks on behalf of individual units. The position interacts routinely with Texas Department of Family and Protective Services staff, representatives from various organizations, and the general public. 

Essential Roles and Responsibilities 

  • Leads a team of Family Support Specialists to meet the support needs of Region 5.
  • Assists Intake &Placement Director in managing time and leave requests and scheduling for Family Support Specialists.
  • May be required to provide transportation for clients to and from appointments as requested by TFCN Intake/Placement specialists, case managers and/or case manager supervisor. 
  • May be required to observe and/or supervises parent and child visits. 
  • Completes appropriate forms and documentation concerning client contact including data entry into CoBris, IMPACT and other technology/case management systems. 
  • Maintain out-going paper and/or electronic appointment calendar for scheduling requests made by TFCN Intake/Placement specialists, case managers and/or case manager supervisor. 
  • Performs other duties as assigned and required to maintain unit operations including performing various clerical duties such as typing, filing, faxing, copying, answering/receiving telephone inquiries, etc. 
  • Promotes and demonstrates appropriate respect for cultural diversity among coworkers and all work-related contacts. 
  • Attends work regularly in accordance with agency leave policy. 
  • Availability to work on call rotation.

Essential Skills and Abilities 

  • Ability to lead a team and manage schedules. 
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. 
  • Ability to follow instructions. 
  • Ability to effectively supervise children of various ages. 
  • Ability to operate a personal computer, several software packages, and basic office equipment. 
  • Ability to work remote supporting numerous staff members. 
  • Knowledge of community resources. 

Essential Qualifications 

  • Licensure: Valid Driver’s License and Auto Insurance 
  • Clearances: State, FBI, and Child Abuse and Neglect Clearances; Mandated Reporter-Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse training per state regulation. 

 Working Conditions 

  • Physical Demands: Requires vision, speech, and hearing and a moderate to high level of physical activity including sitting, standing, walking, lifting and carrying as required. Must be able to meet the demands and complete Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI). 
  • Environmental Factors: Indoors/Outdoors: School, community, residence, office, in-home. 
  • Working Hours: A non-traditional work schedule as defined by service needs and crisis “on-call”.
