Job Summary

Maintain, repair, and modify physical structure of buildings for the District.
Essential Functions

Perform minor repairs and replace electrical fixtures and devices.
Replace and repair plumbing fixtures, water and sewer lines, grounds landscape, or any other maintenance related activity for the District.
Operate and maintain the heating and cooling equipment including, boilers, centrifugal refrigeration machines, air conditioning, ventilation equipment, pumps, and motors.
Perform minor repairs and maintain physical structure of building including landscape maintenance.
Perform maintenance inspections.
Operate hot water heaters, circulating pumps, booster pumps, and other related equipment.
Perform minor lock/ door repair.
Paint, clean, and maintain machinery and equipment.
Perform other duties as assigned. In-person work on campus is an essential function of this position.
Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

1. Two (2) years of related experience.

2. Experience in general maintenance to include painting, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical repair.

3. Experience working with standard maintenance equipment and machines.

4. Experience working with heating and cooling equipment.

5. Experience performing preventive maintenance and performing maintenance inspections.

6. Effective communication, organizational, and team-player skills.

7. Ability to prioritize, troubleshoot, and resolve problems.

Special Conditions: 1. This is a security-sensitive position as defined under the Texas Education Code, Section 51.215; the successful applicant will be required to undergo a criminal background check, as permitted and/or required by applicable law, and in accordance with the College's policies and procedures.

2. Operating a motor vehicle is an essential job function of this position; all final position candidates will be required to undergo a motor vehicle records check, as permitted and/or required by applicable law, and in accordance with the College's policies and procedures. Thereafter, motor vehicle records checks will be conducted annually.

3. Must possess a valid driver's license.

4. Must be insurable by the district's auto liability insurance carrier.

5. Job will require irregular or extended work hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Additionally, each foreign transcript must be evaluated for equivalency to United States accredited coursework by an agency certified by the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) or granting institution if accredited by Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS).
