Job Summary

We are searching for a Community Initiatives Coordinator — someone who works well in diverse settings. In this position, you’ll coordinate a place-based capacity building initiative. Activities include: Contacting schools to educate them on Project ADAM. Developing a cohesive curriculum for residents with the help of content experts, planning and conducting sessions for residents and meetings for collaborative members, coordinating and supporting activities and information dissemination between stakeholders between sessions/meetings, supporting residents in implementation of community advocacy projects developed during the sessions, writing reports, and making presentations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining database of schools.
  • Work with the project manager to provide updates.
  • Perform needs assessments and research activities to develop appropriate programs
  • Identify specific populations for outreach
  • Develop, implement, and maintain various programs focused on section pillars
  • Maintain and nurture relationships with designated community-based organizations
  • Promote events to increase attendance and participation of target audience
  • Develop program materials using print, audio, and visual media
  • Work with team members to identify new areas of need for service in the IDS and community
  • Coordinate delivery of services between the team and various community partners
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community providers that are experts in the field of assessment, treatment, and clinical care for patients of abuse
  • Identify and coordinate outreach and educational opportunities
  • Develop program materials utilizing graphic design skills and create educational packets for participants
  • Identify applicable grants to enhance team efforts aimed at education, identification, and prevention of child abuse and neglect
  • Collect and disseminate research findings to leadership for further analysis
  • Provide comprehensive monthly statistics related to outreach, research, and team activities

Qualifications

Being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, including any booster dose(s) of the COVID-19 vaccine recommended by the Centers for Disease Control when eligible, is required for all employees at Texas Children’s, unless approved for a medical or religious exemption

  • Master’s degree with a concentration in social work, public health, or a related field
  • 2 years’ work experience in social work, public health, or other related healthcare discipline
