Texas Children's Health System is Hiring a Physician - Child & Adolescent Psychiatry Near Houston, TX

Job Description

The division/section of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children's Hospital is seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join a rapidly growing service that is undergoing an exciting expansion of its' clinical, education and research mission in a pre-eminent children's hospital and integrated pediatric healthcare system.

The following opportunities are available:

  • Austin - Consult Liaison, Full-Time
  • Houston - Intensive Outpatient Position (IOP), Full-Time
  • Woodlands - Consult Liaison, Full-Time
  • Woodlands - Intensive Outpatient Position (IOP), Full-Time
  • Woodlands - Outpatient, Full-Time

Successful candidates should be eligible for faculty appointments at Baylor College of Medicine at the Assistant or Associate Professor levels.

Qualifications:

Baylor College of Medicine requires all new employees to provide either proof of COVID-19 vaccination or to submit an acceptable exemption form that is medical or religious based within 60 days of hire to BCM Occupational Health.

  • M.D. or D.O.
  • Must have or be able to obtain an unrestricted Texas medical license
  • Board eligible/Board Certification in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry

Responsibilities:

  • Assesses, diagnoses, treats, and educates patients
  • Documents information in patientÂ’s chart regarding assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and education
  • Records diagnosis/CPT in an accurate, timely manner to ensure prompt posting of charges per site protocol
  • Provides verbal and/or written information regarding treatment regimens in language that is understandable and appropriate for the patient and/or caregiver
  • Serves as a credible, knowledgeable educational resource for the patient, family, community and other healthcare professionals
  • Participates in site meetings and provides input to address patient care issues or operational concerns
