Texas Car Links is Hiring a Shop Manager Near Houston, TX

Service Manager will successfully merge the selling process with the service process for a prompt, efficient and pleasurable shopping experience for the customers. Service Managers must have the ability to communicate well with the customers. They must have exceptional diagnostic skills, as well as having the ability to successfully lead and supervise a team of technicians. Assign and inspect completed work before delivery of vehicles to the customers. Service Managers will ensure that all production goals are being met and implement the company’s sales strategies inside the shop.

This position is well suited for an individual who is tired of turning wrenches all their life and are now ready to move up to more of a supervisory position. Preference would be given to previous shop owners.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Hire, train and retain a competent team of Technicians which is performance driven and delivers outstanding customer service each and every time;
  • Diagnose vehicles and recommend necessary repairs and maintenance required to the Service Advisors;
  • Assigns repair/work orders to each Technician based on their skill level;
  • Ensures that all jobs are completed in a timely manner to meet weekly goals;
  • Leads and participates, as needed, in customer service functions, safety procedures, inventory control and employee paperwork;
  • Participates, as needed, with preparing customer repair estimates, ordering repair parts and reminding customers of necessary preventive and scheduled maintenance;
  • Promotes sales of tires and accessories through close examination of each vehicle that comes through the shop;
  • Communicates with the customers by showing them issues with their vehicles and the necessary repairs needed, effectively translating the technical issues in laymen terms;
  • Is responsible and a driving force in maintaining a neat, clean and attractive shop appearance, as well as performing necessary maintenance;
  • Aids in maintaining compliance with all current HR and Operating Policies and Procedures as well as State and/or Federal regulations
  • Monitor inventory levels of stock items, orders and receives supplies and parts
  • Ensure that all unusable parts are repackaged and returned to Vendors for credit
  • Test drive and inspect completed repairs and maintenance prior to delivery
  • May prepare daily operating reports for Store Manager /Owner.

Physical Requirements:

  • Standing, walking, bending, and stretching are regularly required in all aspects of the business;
  • Ability to lift 25 -50 pounds; and
  • Ability to get in and out of customers vehicles after driving them in or out of shop.

Salary: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
