Texas Bank is Hiring a Bank Teller Near Frisco, TX

Purpose:

Bank tellers are responsible for providing exceptional customer service including efficient and accurate transaction processing.

Education:

High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)

Previous teller experience preferred but not required

Knowledge:

  • Excellent customer service skills, attentiveness, information retention, tact and diplomacy in dealing with both customers and employees
  • Mathematical skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Detail oriented, high degree of accuracy
  • Competent with computers, telephone, 10-key and other office machinery
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment & under pressure as needed
  • Ability to make sound decisions. This may include making on the spot decisions regarding customer transactions; weighing customer satisfaction issues with the Bank's risk.
  • Ability to think through and rationalize decisions
  • Familiar with retail banking regulations and teller roles and responsibilities
  • English language knowledge. Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar

Tasks:

  • Provide excellent customer service while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and professionalism. This should include acknowledging customers by name at the beginning or end of the transaction for a more personal experience.
  • Acknowledge all customers that come in the bank.
  • Balance currency, coin, and checks in cash drawers at ends of shifts, and calculate daily transactions using computers, calculators, or adding machines.
  • Cash checks and pay out money after verifying that signatures are correct, that written and numerical amounts agree, and that accounts have sufficient funds and no other orders on the account would prevent pay out of money(stop payment, freeze on account, hold, etc).
  • Receive checks and cash for deposit, verify amounts, and check accuracy of deposit slips.
  • Examine checks for endorsements and to verify other information such as dates, bank names, identification of the persons receiving payments and the legality of the documents.
  • Enter customers' transactions into computers to record transactions and issue computer-generated receipts.
  • Count currency, coins, and checks received, by hand or using currency-counting machine, to prepare them for deposit or shipment to branch banks or the Federal Reserve Bank.
  • Identify transaction mistakes when debits and credits do not balance.
  • Prepare and verify cashier's checks.
  • Arrange monies received in cash boxes and coin dispensers according to denomination.
  • Process transactions such as loan payments, night deposits, and mail deposits.
  • Receive mortgage, loan, or public utility bill payments, verifying payment dates and amounts due.
  • Resolve problems or discrepancies concerning customers' accounts.
  • Assist customers with gift cards, bill payments(if applicable to branch), money orders, cashier's checks, address changes and other requests.
  • Promote the bank's services, answer customer questions and direct customers to appropriate departments.
  • Order a supply of cash to meet daily needs.
  • Sort and file deposit slips and checks..
  • Carry out special services for customers, such as ordering bank cards and checks.
  • Daily balancing of the coin machine and vault
  • Answer basic customer inquiries regarding products while complying with disclosure requirements, regulations and consumer privacy policies
  • Answer incoming phone calls in friendly and professional manner
  • Receive and prepare wire request
  • Perform opening and closing procedures of the branch
  • Ideal candidate will be able to cross-train to other functions in the bank lobby setting to assist with new accounts and administrative assistant functions.
  • Other duties as required
