Parts Supply Chain Specialist 

Reports to: Parts Operations Manager

FLSA Status: Exempt

The Opportunity

Under minimal direction, the Parts Supply Chain Specialist is responsible for supporting the Parts Department and Parts Operation Manager in the following areas: placing and tracking purchase orders, scheduling incoming product, and assisting in receipt of such product, maintaining inventory levels, and updating product pricing, parts, etc. Overtime may be required based upon season and business load.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates stock, selects items and issues purchase orders for timely and economical delivery
  • Responsible for all aspects of inventory control including replenishment, stocking, cycle counting, and physical inventory
  • Evaluates new product lines
  • Implements product promotions 
  • Conducts market price and product needs analysis 
  • Evaluate and update seasonal stock levels as needed to optimize turns and service level 
  • Flexibility to work outside normal work hours/weekends, as required 
  • Manages sell prices for aftermarket and commodity product lines.
  • Makes decisions regarding stocking locations and inventory levels.
  • Manages inventory profile strategy.
  • Evaluates and approves items for stock return
  • Manages slow-moving and obsolete inventory, and makes decisions regarding inventory write-offs

Qualifications

The Required Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • HVAC, Construction or Parts industry experience is a plus
  • Excellent initiative, and interpersonal communications skills and a demonstrated ability to influence others
  • Great customer service skills – internal and external
  • Strong PC skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Other Skills & Abilities

Language Skills

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Mental stamina for problem solving and prioritizing multiple tasks.

Environmental Requirements

Will be required to work in an office environment and possibly, occasionally in the field.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to operate computer keyboard and telephone, reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
