The Opportunity

We are seeking an Applied Parts Specialist to be responsible for achieving operational excellence for internal processes within the Parts department. This individual has focused knowledge in a specialized area or product (i.e. Applied Parts equipment). The position requires a high level of oral and written correspondence with the sales team, customers, and others. This individual must be able to work well with others in a fast-paced & high-volume environment.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities

  • Provide selling support through technical assistance to co-workers, customers and others who may influence the purchase decision
  • Collaborate with Parts Leadership and peers to share best practices, drive effective leadership, customer support and financial outcomes
  • Develop and grow relationships with customers and manufacturers
  • Investigate concerns, implement corrective action and communicate with customers and co-workers as necessary to maximize customer satisfaction
  • Using system databases, provides applied parts pricing and estimates
  • Make decisions regarding stocking locations and inventory levels
  • Manage pricing for applied parts product category
  • Document procedures for parts identification
  • Create instructional materials for parts ID training
  • Conduct training classes for coworkers
  • Participate in sales calls at customer locations
  • Proactively drive business through outbound phone calls & email
  • Business travel 1 week per quarter, to conduct training and sales calls

Qualifications

The Required Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field; or equivalent experience
  • 10 years applied parts or parts sales experience
  • Training design experience and facilitation skills
  • Ability to design, develop, implement and evaluate applied equipment inventory and pricing protocols
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with people
  • Strong PC skills in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

Able to solve problems and skillfully negotiate with a minimum of noise while managing stress. Demonstrates integrity and trust through appropriate directness and truthfulness. Ability to understand personal strengths and weaknesses, seek feedback and improve upon shortcomings.

Presentation Skills

Ability to communicate and transfer knowledge in a precise, concise and logical manner. Demonstrates professional facilitation skills and has a professional presence. Must be able to effectively present information in one‐on‐one and group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Physical Demands: This individual will be required to work in an office environment and occasionally in the warehouse and/or field. While performing the duties of this job, the individual is regularly required to use hands to operate computer keyboard and telephone, reach with hands and arms. They are frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. The individual is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. They must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
