Texas A&M Foundation is Hiring a Marketing Specialist Near College Station, TX

The Texas A&M Foundation invites applications for the position of Marketing Specialist within the Marketing & Communications team.

The Marketing Specialist is responsible for the planning, development and production of digital, spoken and/or print communications that support and promote major-gift fundraising and donor engagement at the Texas A&M Foundation. This experienced and talented writer is responsible for communicating donor impact in a professional and engaging way, and for aligning communications with the Foundation’s voice and brand. This position also assists with the day-to-day operations of the department while reporting to the Assistant Director of Marketing & Communications.

As our Marketing Specialist, you'll play a vital role in enhancing fundraising success and connecting our donors to the powerful and profound impact of philanthropy on the mission of Texas A&M University with the opportunity to:

  • Strengthen the case for individual and institutional support by translating the university’s philanthropic priorities into high-quality, effective communication and solicitation materials targeted at former students and donors.
  • Write emotionally driven, audience-centric donor communications. Demonstrate the ability to translate ideas, objectives and messages that relate to the topic, speaker and intended audience.
  • Demonstrate the ability to diagnose and address flaws in grammar, vocabulary, tone and exposition for various written communications.
  • Write thank you letters and short-form copy for Foundation event invitations, emails, e-newsletters, direct mail pieces, brochures, donor impact reports or proposals.
  • Write speeches and/or talking points for executive team members who have speaking roles at Foundation or university events.
  • Assist as needed with the production of effective communications and editorial planning for the Foundation’s three print publications and e-newsletter.
  • Collaborate creative direction for Foundation print and digital advertisements, assist in promoting the Foundation’s content via social media platforms, and provide support for the Foundation’s external website and intranet as needed
  • Write press releases about major gifts to the Foundation for distribution.
  • Positively engage with donors, students, and Foundation and university partners throughout the creative marketing process and utilize department workflow tools, including Trello, Cvent, Marq and Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
  • Provide support for day-to-day operations of the marketing department.

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Understanding of academic college or university setting
  • Experience working with photographers
  • Strong organizational skills; ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously working effectively under pressure of goals and deadlines
  • Ability to easily adapt and quickly respond to changes
