Texarkana Independent School District is Hiring a Temporary Associate Principal (One Year; 2024-2025 School Year Only) Near Texarkana, TX
PRIMARY PURPOSE / FUNCTION:
During the 2024-2025 school year, the Principal of Spring Lake Park Elementary School and Highland Park Elementary School will be dividing their time between both campuses as well as participating in a 20-hour/week School Design Fellowship to set the vision and plan for Texarkana ISD’s new Career and College Prep Elementary School. The Acting Associate Principal will provide hands-on support to both Spring Lake Park and Highland Park to ensure that students and staff at both campuses are highly successful during this school year. The Acting Associate Principal will take on several discrete leadership roles typically owned by the Principal to free up overall capacity and serve as the go-to decision-maker for campus staff when the Principal is off campus or unavailable. The Acting Associate Principal will report directly to the Parks Principal.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
Master’s degree in educational administration
Texas principal or other appropriate Texas certificate
Certified Texas Teacher Support and Evaluation System (T-TESS) appraiser
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Working knowledge of curriculum and instruction
Ability to evaluate instructional programs and teaching effectiveness
Ability to manage budget and personnel
Ability to coordinate campus functions
Ability to interpret policy, procedures, and data
Strong organizational, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
Calm and patient demeanor with students and others
Experience:
Two years of experience as a classroom teacher
Two years of experience in instructional leadership roles
