BCBA Clinical Supervisor for Behavior Improvement Center (BIC)

The Behavior Improvement Center (BIC) is part of Texana’s Center’s Specialized Services Division. Texana Center is a 501(c)3 public, not for profit organization whose mission is to deliver life changing services to people with behavioral health issues and intellectual and developmental disabilities. Texana provides a wide variety of behavior analytic services and has a long history of involvement in public policy at the state and local levels. Texana’s Behavior Analysts are provided with opportunities to collaborate with others and to conduct behavior analytic research. The Behavior Improvement Center is a well-established program that has been providing high quality ABA treatment for individuals and their families for over 23 years.

Role Responsibilities

  • The BCBA Clinical Supervisor works directly for the Senior Manager of the Behaivor Improvement Center. The BCBA provides focused intervention to children, adolescents and adults with an Autism Spectrum Disorder and/or Intellectual Developmental Disability. Population served is ages 3 and up.
  • The BCBA Clinical Supervisor works with the Behavior Improvement Center team providing ABA therapy to individuals and their families in the clinic, community, learning centers and group homes. However, services are primarily conducted in the clinic.
  • The BCBA develops individualized Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) treatment programs for each assigned client based on behavioral assessment and individualized data and family input. The BCBA conducts the initial implementation of the programs; reviews data frequently, modifies programs as necessary to get maximum progress, and monitors treatment integrity.
  • The BCBA provides direct one on one and small group treatment using ABA procedures for individuals with a diagnosis of autism and/or intellectual disability who display aggressive, disruptive, non-compliant, and/or self-injurious behavior. Consists of skill acquisition for self-help skills, academic skills, social skills, communication skills, vocational skills, and basic attending skills.
  • The BCBA insures standardized preference assessments, functional analyses, and skill assessments are conducted in a timely manner. The BCBA conducts direct observations, collects data, summarizes data, and documents training progress. Work is often observed by parents, teachers, and other staff. Services include assessment of language, self-care, social skills, acedemics, behavior function, etc.; development, implementation, evaluation, and monitoring of behavior intervention plans; development and updating of treatment objectives; consultation to schools and families; and staff/family training. Client challenges include deficits of functional skills and problem behaviors. The BCBA will comply with the Professional and Ethical Compliance Code for Behavior Analysts as well as the Texana Business Code of Conduct. The BCBA is responsible to keep up with the literature of ABA and autism treatment.

Salary

  • Salary $70,000-$83,000 annually depending on experience and certification date.

Required Education and/or Certifications, Experience, Skills

  • Board certification and Texas license or certification applied for on first day of hire (Board Certified Behavior Analyst certification)
  • Master’s Degree in Behavior Analysis or with multiple behavior analysis credits during degree completion
  • Applicants should be well versed in clinical technology as well as able to discuss and explain the technology using scientific and lay terms.
  • Applicants should be able to communicate and interact professionally and positively with team members, caregivers, and clients.

Preferred Education and/or Certifications, Experience, Skills

  • Applicants with clinical experience.
  • Applicants with autism intervention experience.
  • Applicants with experience working with the IDD population.

Job Related Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to perform SAMA and CPR.
  • Must be able to perform moderate to heavy lifting (15#- 45#), pushing, stooping, light carrying (15#), repeated bending, reaching above shoulder, simple grasping, hearing, walking, sitting and twisting.
  • Must have ability to see, write, operate office equipment, operate a motor vehicle and have depth perception.
  • Qualified individual must be able to perform these functions with or without reasonable accommodations.
