Job Details

Position: Principal Embedded Software Engineer

Location: Fairfield, CT onsite form day 1 (5 days onsite)

Duration: 18-24 months

Domain: Electronics/Robotics

Interviews: 1st Round Microsoft Teams Meeting 2nd Round Onsite (face to Face, mandatory)

Overview: We are seeking a talented and experienced Principal Embedded Software Engineer specializing in robotics and automation to join our dynamic team. As a Principal Embedded Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the development of device drivers that control machines, robotics, and automation tools. Your expertise will drive innovation, ensure robust performance, and shape the future of our products in the field of robotics and automation.

Responsibilities:

  1. Design, develop, and maintain embedded software solutions for controlling machines, robotics, and automation tools.
  2. Lead the architecture and implementation of device drivers for various hardware components, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and efficiency.
  3. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including hardware engineers, firmware engineers, and system architects to define requirements and ensure seamless integration.
  4. Conduct thorough testing and debugging of embedded software to identify and resolve issues, ensuring high-quality and reliable operation.
  5. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence within the team.
  6. Stay abreast of emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in embedded systems development, robotics, and automation.
  7. Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and other team activities to promote knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
  8. Contribute to the development of technical documentation, including specifications, design documents, and user manuals.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
  2. Extensive experience (10-15 years) in embedded software development, with a focus on device drivers, preferably in the field of robotics or automation.
  3. Strong proficiency in programming languages such as C/C for embedded systems.
  4. Deep understanding of real-time operating systems (RTOS), embedded Linux, and other embedded software development environments.
  5. Proven track record of designing and implementing complex embedded systems, including device drivers, communication protocols, and control algorithms.
  6. Excellent problem-solving skills and a systematic approach to debugging and troubleshooting.
  7. Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  8. Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience leading technical initiatives and mentoring junior engineers.
  9. Passion for robotics, automation, and advancing technology to solve real-world challenges.
