The Peri-Surgical Registered Nurse acts as a team member by aiding in the supervision and administration of quality care in the hospital. This role is accountable for planning, organizing, directing and delivering patient care by utilizing the nursing process in accordance with established policies and procedures among patient/family, medicine, nursing, ancillary and other team personnel. This position acts as a patient advocate, assessing patients for educational, physiological, psychosocial, comfort and safety needs. The Peri-Surgical Registered Nurse maintains current knowledge and personal education about standards of professional nursing practices, and attends staff meetings and other trainings required by TVHC. This position allows for flexibility in scheduling the needs of a 24/7 facility. All employees perform their work duties in a manner which promotes and supports the Standards of Conduct of Teton Valley Health Care; and demonstrate support of the organizations mission, values, and vision in all actions and interactions with employees, patients, medical staff, guests and visitors.

• Current State of Idaho Registered Nurse License
• Current BLS, PALS, ACLS certification Preferred or obtain within 30 days of hire
• Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
• Basic knowledge in computer use; including email and electronic documentation
• Intermediate math skills including algebra equivalent logic and reasoning required for dosage calculations
• Ability to use standard patient care equipment including handling flammable gases
• Knowledge of use on available nursing resources such as approved textbooks and online sites for patient care
• Ability to maintain and follow guidelines, set standards of practice in quality patient care, and state, federal, and facility required infection control practices
