The Patient Financial Advocate arranges for the efficient and orderly admission of patients and admission of individuals who have hospital-based outpatient testing or procedures. She/he insures that patient information is collected and that patients are aware of hospital policies and procedures. The Patient Financial Advocate performs an important service for the public by acting as the liaison between patients and hospital financial services. The financial advocate demonstrates a high level of customer service by establishing pre-authorizations for all necessary procedures/services and by informing patients of what their financial obligations will be to the hospital. This position also works to increase the collection of payments prior to the date of service rather than after the service date.
