What to Expect

The New Product Launch Manager isresponsible for supporting the launch of new 4680 cell designs (from late-stagedevelopment through high volume production). This is a launch focused role thatwill focus on realizing design, quality, yield, and customer specificationtargets. The primary responsibilities will be to drive and steward the late-stageproduct testing strategy and associated schedules; ensuring early production meetsdemand. Your goal is to achieve launch readiness by coordinating a diversegroup of stakeholders to ensure program success (design, quality, validation, manufacturing,cell production teams, and downstream production teams). Ultimately, you will introduce majorcoordinated changes into our manufacturing systems and factories, by monitoringand auditing program status against Tesla's "cell development phase gatechecklist."

What You'll Do
  • Develop a deep understanding of our product design andmanufacturing processes
  • Answer complex questions on change impact to manufacturing
  • Evaluate trade-offs and scenarios of highly coupled problemswith over-constrained resources
  • Coordinate cross functional efforts to validate new productsat a cell and pack level
  • Communicate validation cell build plan requirements to relevantinternal and external teams
  • Analyze and determine the optimal solutions for changecoordination with manufacturing, other Tesla plants, and suppliers
  • Work with stakeholders to take a vague problem statement,refine the scope of the analysis, and use the results to drive informeddecisions
  • Evaluate and report program status against Telsa celldevelopment phase gate checklist
What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in quantitative discipline(e.g., Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering), or equivalent
  • 3 years of experience in a mix of engineering and program management fields
  • Data driven analytical problem solver with experience with datavisualization techniques
  • Ability to problem solve and adjust priorities in afast-moving and constantly evolving high-growth environment
  • Able to connect technical details to high level businessgoals and distill complex problems down to key variables
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Comfortable in an environment with unstructured, incomplete,and ambiguous data
  • Curious and driven to solve complex problems
  • Strong engineering skills and proven track record ofexceptional ability (i.e., you personally solved difficult problems that movedthe needle on meaningful projects)
  • Production Operations Knowledge - has a firm understandingof how complex production lines operate including key items such as industrialworkings between facilities/departments, line balance, OEE, error proofing,etc.
  • Comfortable in a highly collaborative environment with manydiverse stakeholders
