What to Expect

Tesla is seeking a full-time Senior Paralegal tosupport our Employment Law Team. The Senior Paralegal will partner withattorneys and human resources on various compliance matters by assisting with case managementand consultation. The work is primarily in support of US clients but extendsoutside the US as the business requires. The Senior Paralegal will create processes and practices to support the efficiency andeffectiveness of the employment law team by manageing legal processes. We are seeking someone who provideshigh quality professional services and assistance to the lawyers and businessstakeholders at all levels of the organization.

What You'll Do
  • Support the Employment Legal Team on pre-litigationemployment disputes
  • Conduct initial legal analysis/assessment of employmentdemand letters and agency charges as needed assisting with factual developmentand analysis of cases including conducting interviews of witnesses, organizingdocuments, summarizing information, and talking to key stakeholders
  • Update and manage company policies, employment agreementtemplates, process documents, playbooks and other forms
  • Identify new andmaintain existing resources and tools for clients, including SharePoint sitesand external tools and trainings
  • Identify compliancepriorities in areas such as EEO, OFCCP, wage and hour, employment law trainingrequirements hiring practices, disability accommodation, drug testing, hiringpractices, leaves and workers' compensation leave, workforce data relatedprivacy, ethics, and employee policies; support projects to address thosepriorities
  • Partner with attorneysto educate clients regarding employment law matters and consult with clients onemployee matters
  • Develop andimplement best practices and process improvements that result in improvements andefficiencies to the employment law function
  • Identify and implement team goals for establishing newpractices related to subject matter expertise, as well as managing design andprogress monitoring
  • Coordinate with attorneys on special requests or highlycomplex and confidential projects
  • Develop a litigation database to track and maintain matters,prepare necessary reporting, and ensure timely processing of outside counseland vendor invoice payments
  • Implement and manage litigation holds
  • Draft legal documents, communications and reports under attorney supervision
  • Prepare reports and presentations for senior management
What You'll Bring
  • At least five yearsof relevant experience.
  • Ability to identifyand assess risks and escalate issues to in-house attorney, as needed.
  • Ability to thrivein a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Ability toprioritize and manage multiple tasks and work streams to meet critical,short-term deadlines.
  • Bachelor's Degreein Paralegal Studies or Legal Studies or a Bachelor's Degree and a ParalegalCertificate from an ABA-accredited program.
  • Strong oral andwritten communication skills, strong organizational skills, excellentinterpersonal and influencing skills, sound judgment, thorough, and accuratewith excellent attention to detail.
  • Team player havingthe desire and initiative to develop and take ownership.
  • Excellent computerskills (Microsoft Office Suite products, including Word and Power Point,SharePoint). Willingness to learn new technology as needed. Excellent written and verbalcommunication, interpersonal and diplomatic skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with variousstakeholders across multiple teams to produce results.
  • Ability to demonstrate good judgment and uphold the higheststandards of discretion and confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • In-house experiencea plus, or experience working closely with in-house counsel.
