The Residential Business Development works toanalyze markets, shape emerging business models, and advise the energy businesson how best to meet Tesla's mission of accelerating the transition tosustainable energy.

This is a dynamic role that will be a keymember of the biz dev team, supporting across all residential products (solarand storage). They will be responsible for everything from modeling energymarket revenues and project economics, to collecting and sharing competitiveintelligence, to working with leadership on global strategy and new commercialstructures. On any given day, the Analyst could be working on detailedfinancial models, digging into utility tariff language, or building businessplans with the sales teams.

The broad scope of this role will require aunique candidate - one who is flexible, has a strong energy market and storagebackground, and a structured approach to solving problems and managing data.

Working on Tesla's Energy Residential BusinessDevelopment Team requires wearing many hats and adapting to a fast-paced workenvironment. Besides a rock-solid work ethic and a strong team-orientedpersonality, members of the team must display creativity, passion, and a desireto break new ground in a constantly shifting landscape.

The role is based at Tesla's offices in PaloAlto, CA, but this role is open to remote candidates. Additional travel likelyrequired for remote candidates.

• Develop forward views of market conditions to inform sales team activities across all regions
• Deep dives into wholesale markets and regulatory frameworks to inform program economics, including utility tariffs, incentive programs, and ancillary services
• Build/update financial models to evaluate viability of projects
• Analyze new geographies, applications, and business models for energy storage. Develop and implement new market entry strategies and first-of-their-kind projects
• Understand emerging industry trends and educate the rest of the company; update strategy, offers, and products accordingly

• 2 years of electricity industry experience with a broad understanding of how the industry works
• Strong financial modeling skills - comfortable with DCF, IRR, NPV
• Very strong analytical skills
• High proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
• 4 years electricity industry experience, preferred
• Experience with energy storage technology and value propositions across residential and C&I verticals, preferred
• Energy storage modeling experience, preferably in wholesale markets, preferred
