Tesla is seeking an ambitious environmental compliance andengineering professional to join the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Teamat the Gigafactory Nevada facility campus. The role will support regulatorypermitting, day-to-day operations and associated environmental aspects/impactsimprovements. Their work will ensure compliance, continuous risk reduction, andcapitalization on opportunities to make Giga Nevada an outstanding example ofenvironmental management across the region and the company.

The Sr. Environmental Engineer will develop,implement, and continuously improve programs within the EHS Management Systemframework in partnership with the broader EHS and Infrastructure teams. Theywill ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health,and safety regulations, and conformance to internal and industry standards.

• Ensure Tesla operates it's Giga Nevada manufacturingfacilities in compliance with all federal, state, and local environmentalregulations and regional and Global Tesla standards. Represent Tesla duringinspections, audits, and inquiries conducted by internal and externalorganizations
• Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate environmentalrisks - both compliance as well as performance related - by participating inmanagement of change processes as well as through self-inspections andaudits
• Support the application and data gathering process forenvironmental permitting, with a specialization in air, water or waste
• Coordinate and support the preparation of environmentalreports, Toxic Release Inventory (TRI), Tier 2 Reports, hazardous wastebiennial reporting, and wastewater Discharge Monitoring Reports (DMRs), aircompliance reports, Support the Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP),and Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) programs, etc
• Perform compliance inspections and utilize tracking tools toissue recommendations and corrective actions to responsible stakeholders.Project manage actions as appropriate to ensure accountable teams are set upfor success to own their compliance impacts
• Develop, track, and report environmental metrics as well asstandard work procedures for the EHS team or factory personnel to ensureproactive tasks positively affect lagging metrics
• Prepare content for environmental training for inclusion inTesla Learning Management System (LMS) or live training sessions

• Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering,Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, or Environmental-relateddiscipline; or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of experience managing multi-mediaenvironmental compliance programs in large scale manufacturing, chemicalindustry, or similar settings
• Previous experience performing this position's job dutieswith progressively increasing complexity and responsibility
• Demonstrated ability to work efficiently, prioritizeworkflows, meet demanding deadlines, manage customer expectations, and balancemulti-faceted projects in a fast-paced environment, where requests andpriorities change rapidly
• Ability to communicate effectively with productionemployees, engineers, legal counsel, technical specialists, and management,cross functionally, in a multi-disciplinary environment; must be able tomeaningfully explain foundational environmental rules to non-environmentalstakeholders
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, andstrong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
• Preferred qualifications: Environmental department orfunction management, including personnel or dedicated resources
