The Motor Controls team is looking for an Embedded Firmware Engineer to develop firmware for motor drives used across many Tesla products, ranging from humanoid robot actuators to vehicle high and low voltage motors. In this role you will work right along controls engineers to architect, implement and test high performance, safety critical firmware over the full product life cycle.

- Development of real-time embedded software that implements control and safety management of motors used in Tesla Bot, vehicle traction motor drives and low voltage drives
- Develop automated tests to ensure high-quality software releases and accurate functionality
- Be involved in the full life-cycle of firmware development from concept through integration, test, and release
- Architect a robust code base that allows efficient scaling and reusability across many products
- BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, experience with evidence of exceptional ability, or equivalent
- 3 years of embedded software experience
- Proficiency in C; familiarity with MISRA C and Python are a plus
- Familiarity with field-oriented motor control algorithms, and experience implementing it on an embedded system
- Strong fundamentals of AC electric motors and drive systems
- Knowledge of microcontroller peripherals such as ADC, GPIO, PWM, SPI, and experience in sensors and digital signal processing
- Knowledge of version control (Git) and continuous integration (Jenkins)

$104,000 - $348,000/annual salary cash and stock awards benefits
Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
