Tesla Gigafactory Nevada is looking for anexperienced Quality Engineer for Energy Storage business. In this role you willbe responsible for battery cell manufacturing to build a world class qualityprocess to enable Tesla to deliver safe and reliable stationary energy storagesolutions to drive the mission to accelerate the world's transition towardssustainable energy. This is a dynamic position where you work across severalengineering groups, to proactively develop products and processes to be built rightfirst time, and continuously improve them to meet Customer expectations andprofitability goals.

• Accountable forthe quality of incoming components, quality controls and assurance inproduction process, root cause analysis and resolution of problems impactinginternal and external customers, continuous improvement and risk mitigation
• Drive crossfunctional teams to achieve targets for field reliability, scrap and first passyield
• Development ofmanufacturing requirements, quality standards and product quality plans toassure products will meet expectations of our target customers
• Deployment ofmanufacturing level requirements to subsystems, assemblies &components to assure clear focus on design and customer needs
• Leadingdevelopment of FMEAs (Design & Process) for development teams to identifyand address critical risks
• Participate indesign reviews to assure product subsystem quality, manufacturability,reliability, etc.
• Assistdevelopment with dimensional analysis, statistical tolerancing and othermethods to investigate the effects of part and process variability on systemperformance.
• Support processcapability analyses to investigate the ability of suppliers and productionprocesses to meet defined specifications and quality standards
• Design effectiveexperiments through DOE or other methods to support design and process teams ininvestigation of various alternatives to resolve quality issues
• Manage andfacilitate the root cause & corrective actions system through tracking andvalidation of issues and support in root cause analysis through facilitatingbrainstorming, use of lean methodologies, hypothesis testing, design ofexperiments, DMAIC, 8D, etc.

• Bachelor Degree of Sciencein Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Materials or Industrial Engineering, orequivalent
• Six Sigma or ASQ certification is preffered.
• Minimum 2 years of experiencein Quality Engineering
• Minimum 1 year ofexperience with Electro-Mechanical Assemblies, Chemical Processes orBattery Cell Manufacturing preferred
• Specific trainingand demonstrated success in applying design for quality, problem-solving methodologies,FMEA, process capability analysis, hypothesis testing, DoE and SPC
• Strong backgroundand demonstrated success applying statistical methods
• Minitab, JMP orother statistical software capabilities are preferred
• Data mining,databases and scripting experience (e.g. MySQL, Python)
• Excellent oral andwritten communication skills
