• Design manufacturing equipment and fixtures for project phases from early-stage prototype builds to high-volume production
• Develop concepts for high-volume production equipment using a first principles approach to optimize equipment safety, cost, capacity, volumetric efficiency, and delivery time
• Specify and procure equipment necessary for all manufacturing processes used to assemble the product
• Specify equipment utility and data interfaces to the physical and "virtual" factory.
• Lead commissioning, validation, deployment, and ramp of production equipment
• Provide DFM (Design for Manufacturability) input to the design team for process and yield improvements
• Author and compile equipment documentation for hand-off to the production sustaining team. Drawing packages, calibration procedures, validation data, spare parts lists, etc.

• 3 years of manufacturing or equipment-sustaining engineering experience in medium to high-volume manufacturing environments
• High-functioning interpersonal and communication skills; demonstrated ability to solve problems with cross-functional teams in rapid-paced, agile work environments.
• Proficiency specifying and designing mechanical equipment, fixturing, and tooling using CAD (SolidWorks preferred, CATIA is a plus)
• Expertise specifying and integrating automation control and safety hardware
• Proficiency using GD&T and statistical methods for analysis of mechanical uncertainty
• Experience creating technical specifications for manufacturing equipment
• Experience leading design, install, commissioning and ramp of automated manufacturing equipment. (fastening, dispensing, laser welding, and/or electrical hardware assembly expertise is a plus)
• Understanding of Design for Manufacturability principles
• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience
