Tesla is looking for a lab chemical analysis technician to assist lab operation in advanced chemical analysis techniques such as ICP-OES, IC, and AA techniques, the candidate will be a core member of an interdisciplinary materials research and development team focusing on developing high-performance electrode materials for Li ion batteries.

• Independently operating ICP-OES, IC, and AA instruments for solution elemental analysis
• Independently operating various solid sample digestion equipment including mixed-acid digestion, microwave digestion, and fusion digestion
• Routine analytical instruments and digestion equipment maintenance and troubleshooting
• Assist engineer in analytical method development and analytical data management including data entry and data analysis / reporting
• Communicate with engineers and technicians working on various projects requiring the chemical analysis on the results and provide feedbacks on analytical data quality and reliability
• Lab chemicals / materials inventory management
• Assist engineer for Lab EHS compliance and safety management and ensure proper chemical waste handling

• Technical background in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or Materials Science / Metallurgy
• 1 years of experience working with wet chemical analysis (ICP-OES, IC, AA, titration, pH), solid materials digestion, and solution sample preparation
• Able to pay attention to details to provide consistent high-quality output for solid sample digestion and solution sample preparation
• Good computer skills for data analysis and reporting necessary, programming ability using Python and Mathlab is a plus
• Able to operate independently and in multi-tasking collaborative environments
• Good verbal and written communication skills
